About the Repeater

Extend your radio communication coverage with the Puma Repeater with Antenna. The Repeater is a slim-line design, enabling easily installation and integration into most repeater sites, as well as being designed to provide reliable service during peak congestion times.

For applications where mobile or portable radio is beyond the range of the office, a Radio Repeater System allows communication by extending coverage. Repeaters can be used to overcome features that obstruct radio communications - such as high buildings and allow communication over longer distances.

They are usually positioned or installed on the top of tall buildings or towers to minimise any radio signal obstruction or interference and will maximise radio coverage. Typical Applications that use a Radio Repeater include Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance, Highways and Utilities, where constant communication is a high priority.

A Radio Repeater (either a VHF or UHF Repeater) is a radio transceiver and radio transmitter at the same time. It receives radio signals and transmits them at a higher level or higher level power so that the signal can cover longer distances. Repeater systems use two different radio frequencies, mobiles transmit on one frequency, and the repeater station receives those transmissions and transmits on a second frequency.

Digital Radio Repeaters can also be IP linked to enable connection to multiple sites.

Whilst Radio Repeaters work automatically, a special antenna is needed.

An Ofcom Licence will need to be purchased to use the Repeater.
