Kenwood manufactures License Free Radios, which are known as PMR446 - PMR stands for Personal Mobile Radio and 446 refers to the frequency range - 446MHz on which License Free Radios are permitted to operate without the need for a license.

Licensed Radios are also manufactured by Kenwood and are available as analogue mode or digital mode - most digital mode radios feature analogue mode and digital mixed mode, this allows them to communicate with any exitising analogue radios. A new or exisiting License is needed to use these radios, PMC Telecom can advise you on this and arrange a license for you if you do not have an exisiting license.
