Jabra Evolve2 75

The headset

The Evolve2 75 Headset itself is a plain, but very smart design, the headband, and the ear cushions both have some nice, thick padding so they are amazingly comfortable to wear for extended periods. Sound quality

Active Noise cancellation is exceptional – with an eight-microphone array on the earcups to detect and cancel out ambient noise. In our test with a loud television in the background that could not be heard by my colleague at all when making a call – these are a superb headset if you need confidence that only your voice will be heard when making important calls.

There is an optional charging stand so if you’d like to keep your headset sitting on your desk fully charged when not in use, there is that choice, however this does cost extra.

EPOS Sennheiser ADAPT 360

Unpacking

As with all the other EPOS Sennheiser headsets in the range, the Adapt 360 arrives in a plain brown box, with its printed Sennheiser labelling – very recyclable and good indeed for the environment. Basic start instructions are printed on the lid of the box, so you’ll be up and running in no time.

Inside the box you’ll find the zip up bag with the headset folded inside. The headset itself is arguably the coolest design we have in the list today (especially the white ones *bites knuckle*). These are more of a headphone style with no separate microphone, so like the Adapt 660’s these are equally at home when outside, listening to music as well as working and talking on teams.

The headset

There is soft cushioning on both the headband and the earcups with a leatherette style material, which I personally prefer as they’re easier to give the occasional wipe down with an anti-bacterial wipe for hygiene while the fabric earcups on other headsets need to be removed, washed, and dried before you can use them.

The Adapt 360’s are light and comfortable to wear – we feel like they’d be fine for extended periods.

Sound quality

Sound quality is superb as you’d expect from EPOS / Sennheiser – playback was rich and smooth. Indeed, running a 3D audio test was a sublime experience with the Adapt 360’s. For speaking, there’s no boom mic, so at a push, trying to find any small negative about these, they might not be the best in extreme loud environments where voice clarity is needed (not the sort of environment most people would be using these it has to be said) – however, with our tests in a normal home / office with the TV cranked up loud in the background the ADS did its job perfectly and meant that we could be heard clearly so we have no complaints at all.

Microsoft Teams Certified

Being Microsoft Teams certified means they do come with the obligatory MS Teams button which doubles up as the answer / end call button and brings the MS Teams app to the front of your connected device if you push and hold this same button. There’s separate volume buttons and a slider button which allows you to skip forwards, or backwards should you be listening to music.

Conclusion

We like the EPOS Sennheiser Adapt 360 a lot – for a Bluetooth headset that looks stylish and can be used for home or office work with Microsoft Teams, it comes highly recommended.

Key features

  • Available in white or black
  • Microsoft Teams Certified
  • MS Teams button – push and hold to open MS Teams, also functions as to answer, or end call button
  • 2.5 hours to max charge
  • 30 hours music playback with active noise cancelling activated
  • USB-C connection
  • Two microphone pickups for voice
  • Easy to pair
  • Epos / Sennheiser mobile and PC apps to configure the headset

What’s in the box?

  • EPOS Sennheiser ADAPT 360 Bluetooth Headset
  • MS Certified Bluetooth Dongle
  • Charging cable USB-A to USB-C
  • 3.5mm Jack to 3.5mm Jack for optional wired connection
  • Instruction leaflet

Best for style points

Project Telecom Professional Binaural ANC Wireless Bluetooth

Probably the most stylish design in our list, the Project Telecom Advanced Bluetooth Headset has classic, bold looks which make it stand out above the rest.

The headset

The headset itself has foam padded ear cushions and headband which are slightly firmer than others here, but no less comfortable after wearing them for a lengthy period we found them perfectly fine.

There is a large and flexible boom arm microphone on the Project Telecom Professional, which people may find is an advantage over a more rigid style – we found that it was a pleasant change to be able to position the microphone exactly where we wanted to.

Power/pairing and skip forwards and backwards buttons are all place on the right ear-cup and are nicely spaced and easy to feel for.

Sound quality

Audio quality is excellent, producing a smooth bass sound with a clear top-end so these are excellent for audiophiles as an alternative to Teams meeting when you want to listen to some music whilst working – it’s also worth noting that you can also take advantage of your PC’s superior sound capabilities by using the included 3.5 – 3.5mm headset jack if you’d like to listen to music whilst working.

Microsoft Teams & connectivity

In terms of using these for Microsoft Teams, we found them to be great – with the included Bluetooth Dongle, pairing was easy, using the standard Windows XP pairing process. With the active noise cancellation our voice was heard clearly despite the loud TV blaring in the background.

Our conclusion

If you’re looking for something different, then we really like the styling on the Project Telecom Professional model.

Key features

  • Headphone Styling is great!
  • Long, flexible boom microphone
  • Active noise cancellation
  • High quality padding – durable, yet comfortable
  • Easy to pair

What’s in the box?

  • Bluetooth Headset
  • USB Bluetooth Dongle for pairing with a PC
  • Charging Cable USB-A to Micro USB
  • 3.5 to 3.5 mm audio cable

Great for travelling - foldable

EPOS Sennheiser Adapt 560

Unpacking

The Adapt 560 is obviously a high-quality product as you’d expect from Epos Sennheiser. Everything comes in a deceptively simple, printed brown box, with basic instructions printed on the inside of the lid. Inside the box the headset itself comes packaged in a soft zip-up carry case allowing you to fold the headset when not in use, or for travelling.

The headset

The EPOS Sennheiser Adapt 560 is a full headset with large squishy earcups meaning it is comfortable to wear and is incredibly good for noise cancellation, so it is easy to hear audio no matter what is going on around you. With active noise cancelling, the Adapt 560 is superb at cutting out local noise on the microphone. In our test, with a TV on in the background it was almost unnoticeable as the active noise cancellation detected the sound as background noise so cancelled it out in favour of our voice, making our meetings more-or-less seamless.

Charging is achieved by the included USB-A to USB-C cable and from a 3-hour 40-minute charge a talk time battery time of approximately 41 hours can be achieved!

Microsoft Teams Certified

The Adapt 560 is Microsoft Certified and has an MS Teams function button allowing you to bring the Teams application automatically to the front of your screen whenever you need to make a call. The retractable headset can also be used to answer and end calls, simply by folding down, or folding up, the boom mic. Volume and mute controls are also easily accessible on the headset itself. A Bluetooth dongle is included so that you can use your headset along with your PC – note if you’d like to. It’s worth noting that you would need to use the included dongle if you would like to use the MS Certified features of the Adapt 560.

Key features

  • Great sound quality – noise cancellation is impressive
  • Headset is foldable, so great for those who travel with their headset
  • MS Teams certified
  • Four active noise cancelling microphones to pick up and cancel ambient sound transmission through the microphone.
  • Volume – play/pause buttons on the headset
  • Size adjustable headband, cushioned
  • Leatherette style ear cushions – sits on ear, not covering the whole ear – lots of padding – feels comfortable
  • Retracting boom mic mutes the microphone when it is positioned up to the earpiece.
  • Epos App to configure the headset in more detail.

What’s in the box?

  • EPOS Sennheiser Adapt 560 Bluetooth Headset
  • MS Certified USB Bluetooth Dongle
  • Soft zip case with an imprint of headset to show how it folds into the case
  • USB-C to USB-C charging cable included
  • Full printed instructions

Best on a budget for starters or bulk buy for businesses

Project Telecom Advanced D Monaural Noise Cancelling Wireless Bluetooth

The Project Telecom Advanced is a little gem in this list – if you’re looking for a simple Bluetooth headset, just for work that is light, unfussy very reasonable priced and excellent quality, then this would be our pick.

Unpacking

Like some of the pricier brands in the list, the Project Telecom Advanced Bluetooth headset arrives in a plain-ish brown box (good for recycling credentials again) with the headset inside a nice velvety drawstring bag for storage when not in use. Also, inside the box, you’ll find a charging stand (which holds the headset in place with a magnetic contact), USB charging cable, Bluetooth USB dongle, and of course a printed user guide.

The headset

The headset itself is plain but functional, with only a monaural version available and coming with a simple flexible metal headband, the advantage being plain it is noticeably light indeed – the lightest in this list in fact, we found it amazingly comfortable for lengthy periods of wear and felt like this headset excelled in this area. With only a monaural version available, this headset is perfect for those who spend a lot of time on calls, we feel like it not only doubles up as a Bluetooth headset for meetings, but also works well if you’re using softphone applications for sales or helpdesk purposes. The ear cushion is soft and sits over the ear – it’s worth mentioning that the ear cushions are a standard size for call centre headsets, so these are easily and cheaply replaceable on this model which is unique to this headset in this list.

On the headset itself the volume up and down buttons are separated on opposite sides of the boom arm, meaning it’s extremely easy to know which button you’re pressing, with the call button placed in the microphone boom arm where it attaches to the headset.

Talk time

Despite its size, the Project Telecom Advanced does give an impressive 17 Hours talk time from a two-hour charge, with up to a total of 200 hours on standby, although it’s more likely with the included charging stand, you’ll be leaving it sitting on your desk topping up its charge when it’s not in use anyway.

Sound quality

Sound quality is exceptionally good– it’s not quite as bombastic as the dedicated headphone style headsets in the list, but for calls and meetings, the Project Telecom Advanced is more than up to the job. With the boom mic, voice was heard clearly, and despite not having active noise cancellation (there is passive noise cancelling), the TV in the background of our test was surprisingly inaudible so there’s a little bit of magic going on in this little package!

Our conclusion

We’d recommend these if you’re on a budget and just need a simple cost-effective headset for work calls, or perhaps if you’re a buyer for a company needing to provide staff with a simple, excellent quality headset to allow them to answer calls or take meeting notes hands-free.

Key features

  • Simple clean design
  • Comes with charging stand – headset attaches magnetically
  • Fold away boom arm
  • Physical power switch
  • Replaceable ear cushion – good for hygiene, fresh staff etc.

What’s in the box?

  • Project Telecom Advanced Bluetooth Headset
  • Charging stand with magnetic contacts
  • Velvet Drawstring Pouch
  • Charging cables
  • USB Dongle
  • Instruction leaflet

High quality for professionals

Jabra Evolve2 65

Another entry here from Jabra who in the Evolve 2 65 seem to have built a headset that is perfect for professionals who need a no nonsense, smart, high-quality headset for a variety of uses. With assorted options on offer here in terms of configuration, there’s lots to choose from here, so let’s dig in.

Unpacking

The box is printed with the specifications and details of the headset itself – opening it up, you’ll see instructions where you can download the optional FREE Jabra direct software which you can use to further update, configure, and personalise your headset. On the inside of the box, there are basic printed instructions that show you all the basic features of the headset and explain how you can pair it to your PC or mobile phone.

The headset

The headset itself is tucked away neatly in the zip up padded carrying case with a Jabra logo printed on the front. Inside you’ll find the headset folded away, the USB charging cable and the Jabra branded USB dongle in its own pocket so you won’t lose it should you travel with your headset.

With plenty of thick padding on the headband and the earcups, the Evolve2 65 is extremely comfortable to wear and being smaller and lighter than some of the bigger headsets in the list here do feel lighter to wear if that is a concern for you. The headband itself is adjustable and flexible, and the earcups do articulate so there is plenty of movement to make them comfortable for most people.

The Evolve2 65 like other Jabra headsets in the range have a microphone that folds away when not in use and doubles up as mute functionality, so when you push the mic back up towards your head, you will not be heard. There’s also an optional mute button on the right earpiece itself which you can press any time. On the right earpiece you also have volume up and down as well as play/pause in the middle of the two volume buttons. The centre piece of the right earpiece also features the button which answers and hangs up calls.

Wearing the headset, it does feel light and comfortable – you can feel the soft cushioning on wearing it the first time and know that softness is doing its job for them to feel unnoticeable after a brief period of wearing time.

Sound quality

Sound quality as you’d expect from Jabra is excellent – the microphone has active noise cancelling so with our TV in the background we could still be heard clearly whilst the TV sound was cut out almost altogether. Listening sound is great – we could hear our callers perfectly; sound was sharp and clear with no problems and testing the headsets with some music for audio we really liked the sound of them.

Key features

  • Lots of style options
  • Certified for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, Amazon Chime, Cisco, and Unify
  • Bright busy light when in use
  • Small profile, quite light.
  • Mobile phone app to connect your headset to mobile phone – enable extra features, download firmware for the headset
  • Thick ear cushions – incredibly soft leatherette style – headset sits on top of your ear, but softness of cushions moulds to your ear as you’re wearing it. Wonderfully comfortable.
  • Headband is also very well padded.
  • Boom microphone quite long – can be folded away
  • 8-hour battery life after 15 mins charge – 37-hour battery life after 90 min charge

What’s in the box?

  • Jabra Evolve2 65 Headset
  • Soft, padded zip-up carry case
  • USB-A to USB-C charging cable
  • Bluetooth USB Dongle – Jabra Branded, Microsoft Teams Certified

Optional addons

Options

The Jabra Evolve2 65 is available in several options – two distinct colours including black and beige as well as a monaural (single ear) and binaural (two ear) version of each colour – there are also options available with a charging stand as well as versions with USB type A or USB type C charging.

Monaural headsets are often preferred by people working front of house roles where they need to be able to answer calls as well as being able to speak and hear people around them clearly.

You can find all the Jabra Evolve2 65 Options available on the PMC Telecom Website here.

Best for listening to music as well as for Microsoft Teams

EPOS Sennheiser ADAPT 660

Unpacking

The EPOS Sennheiser Adapt 660 Bluetooth Headset, like it’s contemporary, comes in a plain brown box with some EPOS Sennheiser EPOS branded stickers on the outside, with basic printed instructions on the inside of the box (full instructions are also included). Inside the box, the headset comes in a firm feeling zip case, the headset itself is foldable and is neatly tucked away inside.

The headset

The headset itself is slightly different that others in this list in that it’s more of a headphone design, that is, it doesn’t have a boom microphone. Stylish and suitable to wear outside the office and with its adjustable size and padded leatherette style ear cushions as well as a padded headband, the headset itself it nice and comfortable to wear for prolonged periods of time.

Microsoft Certified

As with most Microsoft Certified Headsets, there is the MS Teams button on the headset itself allowing you to answer and reject calls as well as quickly bring forth the Teams app on your PC at the touch of a button. There’s a physical on/off switch for the active noise cancelling, and a physical switch for Bluetooth which can be forgone if you’d like to use the included 3.5mm cable. as well as volume and mute buttons on the headset itself. The headset is powered on by twisting the earcup to the wearing position and volume controls are affected by touching and scrolling on the side of the earcup.

Sound quality

Sound quality is excellent here, these were particularly good on the listening side, with our music test, they pump out a rich, smooth bass. Compared to others in the list, however, due to the lack of microphone, the speaking side wasn’t as good as others, but that’s not to say these were bad – far from it. The voice was heard clearly, and background noise cancellation was absolutely on point with four active microphones picking up ambient noise, in our test the sound of the TV in the background was completely inaudible.

Our conclusion

We’d recommend these for people who’d like a pair of headphones they would like to use outside the office as well as for their work calls – they’re perfect for switching between listening to music and taking those important Teams Meetings.

Key Features

  • Headphone style so ideal to use as a pair that serves for pairing to listen to music / podcasts on mobile phone as well as regular desk work.

Impressive budget option for occasional users

EPOS Sennheiser Adapt 260

The EPOS Sennheiser Adapt 260 is a terrific addition to the range – perfect for infrequent to regular headset users who still want a high quality, no fuss headset that will last them a long time.

Unpacking

The package itself arrives in a clear, thick plastic bag with EPOS Sennheiser branding – inside you will find the headset and all the accessories (instructions, charging cable and USB Bluetooth dongle) inside a drawstring bag to keep everything together when travelling.

The headset

The headset itself is light and comfortable to wear, with an adjustable headband – if you’re looking for something smaller, the headband and earcups of the Adapt 260 are small and discrete, especially compared to the larger headsets in this list. Despite its size, the Adapt 260 has a battery that can last up to 27 hours from a 2-hour charge with up to 300 hours stand-by time, so you’ll not find yourself having to repeatedly charging this headset.

Sound quality

Sound quality is exceptionally good – the microphone boom arm sits close to the mouth and the passive noise cancellation did do an excellent job of cancelling out the TV noise in the background in our test. We could be heard clearly without problems, with the TV sound almost completely eliminated. Sound quality from the headphones is great, too.

It is obvious, if you want booming sounds and loud bass for your music, you’re not going to be looking at this headset, but for meetings, video tutorials etc, the sound quality on these headphones is still top grade as you’d expect from EPOS Sennheiser.
